Unexpected Enchantment

Jan Gaylord

My Friend Jen's twinkling smile, as she so happily danced!
The Giant Gold Dragon,
Flanked by two giant Lions,
In a interweaving dance of children and ghosts!
Red, glowing lanterns,
Eerily beautiful music,
From strings and flutes unrecognizable to me,
Dancing so lovely,
As to totally enchant me,
Who knew? Who knew that this would happen,
As I squirmed,
My pain so horribly assisted
By the old theater chair, as to bring tears to my eyes!
Yet I stayed, so delighted,
Where my eyes and ears,
By the unexpected enchantment of the Chinese New Year!

【Jan Gaylord sent to her friend Jennifer Lan, who is a member of Tucson Sino Dance.  Jan is a no ordinary audience.  She has severe Fibromyalgia and suffers lots of pain from the whole body every day.  Yet, she stayed for the Chinese New Year show from the beginning to the end. What better compliments than this we can get for the show?!  So be proud of ourselves producing such an excellent show. - editor】
